Brief History
- Trento was formerly a barrio of Bunawan called Bahayan (referring to a lead sinker at the base of a fishing net)
- On June 15, 1968, it became a separate municipality by virtue of Republic Act No. 5283.
- The town’s name was derived from the 1845 Council of Trento.

Climate
Municipality of Trento has a Type II climate where there has no dry season but with pronounced maximum rain period that occurs from December to January.
Festivals
- SANTIKAN FESTIVAL - held every 12th-15th day of June. "Santikan" is a Manobo word which means the striking of fire, alluding to the different friendly competitions throughout its duration.
- TOWN FIESTA (ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISSI) – celebrated every 4th day of October.
- ARAW NG TRENTO – celebrated every 15th day of June.
